NOTD and Winners of the Giveaway!

Hey everyone!!!!

I recently purchased quite a few Catherine Arley holo polishes off eBay. This was my second time purchasing from this seller and it went great so I may decide to leave a link to her eBay store if my next purchase from her goes just as well.
I got 1 bottle of 805, 1 bottle of 800, and 4 bottles of 667 for both frankening and a future giveaway. They were $6.50 a bottle but considering how much you would have to pay to get other holos like this (upwards of 19 dollars) I would say that's pretty great!
Now onto the pictures :)

667, 805, 800, 667, 667, 667
Close up of 667
Close up of 800, a true red holo :) this I have never even seen before, love it <3
Close up of 805, swatched in this post.
I chose to try the red holo first because I have never seen a true red holo. It applied like a dream. It took just two coats and left behind no patchy spots as some holos do. It wasn't too runny nor too thick. This is an awesome color to add to your collection if you love holos. Now on to some more picture spam :)

Then I decided to add the silver shatter over top. You can't tell in the picture because my camera is being dumb but you can definitely still tell that the red is holo underneath in person. Its beautiful!!!

Now onto the three contest winners, I have emailed you guys and you'll have 48 hours to respond before I pick someone else. Spin, Irina, and Conniewest3. Congrats guys!!!!

I'll talk to you all soon!

Today I wanted to show you another Sonia Kashuk nail polish because for the price I really think that they are great. They are $4.99 per .5 oz bottle.

The application on this was great. Perfect after two coats. This is a dusty purple cream...I LOVE it! This is totally worth checking out. I also was made aware by one of my followers, Wendy, that these are limited edition colors for the spring so if you like this color or the other Sonia Kashuk color from this post go pick them up from Target before they get sold out! (Thanks Wendy!!!)

OPI Silver Shatter and Surprise!! :)

Hey girls! Two posts in one night :) I'm sure feeling productive tonight!

I have a surprise for everyonee!! Today I went into Walmart to look at some more Revlon polishes and I saw out of the corner of my eye a little barber shop inside the actual walmart and some shiny bottles. I walk over and what do I see?!?!? The Silver Shatter display from OPI out early at this little salon so I had to snatch them up!!
Here's the display:

And yes the two empty spots are from me :) as you can see below. Why two you may ask, well I'll answer that at the end of the post :)

Silver Shatter before top coat:

Silver Shatter after top coat (I use Seche Vite btw):

Gorgeous right?!?!? I am going to try this again soon with a brighter color underneath because I think it will make the silver pop more than the dark blue, which is from my previous post Dare to Wear Back to Basics. Now down to the bigger meaning of this post; I have been so overwhelmed with good feelings since I started this blog. You guys have all been so supportive of my new blog and you have been leaving such awesome comments. So, I bought the second Silver Shatter for you guys to win in a giveaway!!! I will post the giveaway soon!! Please let me know if this is something you guys as my followers would like!!

Dare to Wear: Back to Basics

Hey everyone! I hope your weekends are going well.

A couple weeks ago I was on eBay and I saw this collection and decided to try it out. I think I got it for about 20 dollars.
Anyway I wanted to try them on for you guys so that I could let you know what I think. The only polish from this collection that I had heard about before was the green called enchanted forest, it has been on a few other blogs and its as amazing as they said. Lets get on to the pictures :)

This is what the set looks like. It comes with a black, white, red, blue, yellow, green, and top coat:
This is two coats of the yellow, Yellow Twist. It applied really well especially for a yellow:
The next one is a red, True Red. It only took ONE coat to look perfect:
The next one is a blue, Ocean View. I probably could have gotten away with one coat but I did two just in case:

The last one I swatched is a green, Enchanted Forest. This is very similar to Nars Zulu just a tad lighter, you can tell its green. It took two coats:

As you can see they are basic colors but the fact that they applied so freaking well makes them a must have for me! Enchanted Forest and Ocean View were definitely my favorites but it was also nice to find a yellow that wasn't a serious pain to apply. I didn't swatch the black and white because they really are just your basic black and white. I hope that you guys enjoyed!! Make sure to leave comments if you would like! I love reading them.

DUPE Alert!!!!!!

Hey ladies!!!

I was at Target today and saw that Sonia Kashuk had brought out some new polishes, I think her line is exclusive to Target but I'm not positive about that. Of course I bought the polishes because I'm always in to try something new :). There was a pink, purple, and green. On my way home I was thinking about how excited I was to try these out and then I started to get that feeling like something was awfully familiar about the green polish. As soon as I got home I went right to my polish stash and got Essie's Sew Psyched out. I swatched them on a nail wheel....they are exactly the same, not one single difference even the slight shimmer is in both.

EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!!!! The only difference is that I believe the Essie one was limited edition and its TWICE THE PRICE!! Sonia Kushak's polish named Fatigued was 4.99 compared to Essie's polish which is 8 dollars a bottle. I just had to let you guys in on this in case you were lemming for this polish but didn't want to spend the 8 dollars on it. I know I wouldn't have if I had known that the Sonia Kashuk one was exactly the same.
The other thing that makes the Sonia Kashuk one better is it was a one coater! Yes you read that right it only took one coat to look absolutely perfect! If that doesn't sell you on this polish then I don't know what will.
I'm painting my nails now as I write this so I'll post pictures when I'm done!! :)
Talk to you all soon!!

OPI Got the Blues for Red

Hello ladies!!! I hope your days went well!

Today, I wanted to show you guys a beautiful red. Now I normally don't go for colors like reds and pinks because I find them too traditional, especially when they are creams, but when I saw this polish I fell in love with it.

Application was flawless, two coats for full coverage. It's a cream going on jelly finish. Its one of those deep expensive reds that I think everyone should have at least one of. It wasn't too runny but it wasn't too thick. It just was PERFECT!! I don't rave this often about how a polish applies but this one surprised me big time. Now onto the pictures :)

 Indoor lighting with no flash

 Indoor with flash

Indoors with flash again

It really is beautiful and the application was just so great that I cant help but recommend this. OPI really impressed me with this one!!! Leave your comments and requests!! Thanks so much for reading!

NOTD Catherine Arley 805

Hey guys!!!
A few days ago I received a few Catherine Arley nail polishes in the mail that I had ordered recently. The one that I was most excited to try was 805 because it looks similar to My Private Jet the original version.

This polish is awesome but I must say that it just doesn't have the same holo effect. If you cant get your hands on MPJ though I would definitely look into getting this one. I have the MPJ holo version that's more brown than charcoal but still very holo, I'll post a comparison pick soon. Now, onto the picture spam :) this is two coats, great application and all that stuff! Make sure to click and enlarge the pics to get the full affect!!!

As you can see, it's definitely not as holo but it still is really pretty. It's a polish that needs the sun out to fully be appreciated. Ha and sorry about my hands looking so dry and my nails being so short :( house work killed them this weekend. I hope you guys have a great night!!!

Hand and Cuticle Care

Hey guys!! I hope your Thursdays all went well, it's almost the weekend!!!

Today I thought I would just do a quick post on what I use to keep my hands and cuticles looking good. First, I use CND Cuticle Eraser once daily to slough of the dead skin in the cuticle area, its very gentle and has never irritated my sensitive skin. Then, I will massage LUSH's Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter into my cuticles for a few minutes to really work it into the skin. Lastly, I use LUSH's Handy Gurugu Hand Cream (weird name I know) all over my hands. I have dry skin and this helps that out tremendously so I would give it a try if you do too!

If you guys have any products that you love or tips leave them in the comments, I love to try new things!!

Essie Incognito

Hey everyone! Today was one of the best days ever!! Thank you guys for all your support. It makes me feel so excited that I have people actually interested in the same thing as me!! Nail polishh!!!

I had someone ask about Essie today so I decided to paint my nails with Essie's Incognito. It's a beautiful green color that is one of my favorites. Essie wears really well on me, I can usually go chip free for about three days and I have to do a lot of dishes to do at work so that's saying something.
This is two coats of the polish and it was completely opaque. I use OPI Natural Nail Strengthner as a base coat and seche vite as a top coat. The color in real life is just slightly lighter and its not one of those shades that just looks black in the shade, it always looks green no matter what. It is just stunning! I completely recommened the Essie brand!!
Sorry about how jaundice I look here I just was trying to capture the color of the nail polish. I will have better pictures on the next post because I found my camera so I can finally stop using my iPhone!! :)
I hope you guys enjoyed!!!! Thanks again for all the lovely comments and new followers. Make sure to leave links to your blogs so that I can check them out and feel free to leave requests for polishes you'd like to see!!!!

NOTD NARS Orgasm

Heyy chicas!! I just got some nail mail and of course immediately chose to put one of the new ones on to see what I thought. I was looking for a bit of a palette cleanser, as The Lacquerista would say, but I wanted it to have a tiny bit of an attention grabber look to it as well so I went with NARS Orgasm. IT IS BEAUTIFUL!! Normally I hate pinky peachy colors but this is just so different. It's a little sheer but with 3 coats I had no visible nail line.
This is with no flash and in natural light, I live in Ohio so the sun is never out! Sorry about the greasy looking cuticles they needed some serious moisture. Gotta love lemony flutter :) This color is a peach with gold shimmer running through it. Its showing up a little oranger on camera than it is in real life but I think that's because of the gold going through it.

This picture is with flash to show of the gold that shows when the light hits it. It seriously is so so beautiful I cant even stand it. Sorry about the little burn on my hand I work in a cafe so its an occupational hazard ha :/
One slightly blurry pic so that you can see the shimmer even more. I really hate neutrals but I really recommend this color. This little guy caught my heart. I love it :) Remember its slightly peachier than its showing in these pics. Let me know what you guys think!!!

Chanel Paradoxal vs. Barry M Dusky Mauve

Hey guys, I hope your weekends are going well!!!
Today I'll be comparing Chanel's Paradoxal and Barry M Dusky Mauve and I must say that I was very surprised, in a good way! I know many bloggers have compared the two but I thought I'd add my opinion to the bunch :) Please excuse the poor polish job :( I was in a rush because I wanted to post this tonight but now I am polishing them a different color for a friends birthday party this evening.
Indirect Artificial Light
Left To Right: Barry M, Chanel, Barry M, Chanel.

Camera with Flash
Top to bottom: Barry M, Chanel, Barry M, Chanel

Another picture with flash, same order as above.
This was the bag the Chanel bottle came in when I ordered it off there website a couple weeks ago, it just made it feel so luxurious ha :)
As you can see they are very similar, when not under a light you really can't see any difference unless you're looking closely. The Chanel has a slightly darker base color than the Barry M varnish. Also, the shimmer in Barry M is much more apparent all the time than the Chanel and has a slightly different tone to it then the Chanel. They are both so so beautiful but of course my favorite was the Chanel :) it better be for the fortune it costs. If you don't feel like spending the money then go for the Barry M it applied like a dream and is still very pretty. I used two coats of both polishes.
Have a good rest of the weekend everybody!!! And don't forget to leave comments so that I can go visit your blogs!!

NOTD Revlon Royal

Hey there!!!
Today I tried my first Revlon nail polish. I must say that I have been a slight product snob when it came to nail polish, partly because I work at a place where I can get the expensive stuff for cheaper and partly because it just has always worked so well for me.

I finally decided to branch out though with Milani and and Revlon because of the beautiful colors that they had. The Milani was great from a couple posts ago but the Revlon was a different story.

It is a little lighter in the pictures then in real life but only slightly. Its a jelly finish and just stunning!!! I'll list below the pictures the problems I had with the polish.
Ignore the christmas PJ's they're just so comfy!!! :)

First ill start by saying that application was hell, it just seemed to be super gummy and thick and really hard to work with. That drives me nuts because then it takes me so much longer to get the polish to lay perfectly on my finger nails and not get on my cuticles. When I finally got that all worked out the color was beautiful!! If it had been any less beautiful I would have given up but it was worth it to take the time on this one. I don't know if I'll buy any of their other colors unless I feel this way about a color because I was so disappointed with the formula. Sorry about the rant :) Hope you all enjoyed!!!
Until next time!!!

Beautiful Illamasqua Jo'mina!!!!!

Hello Everybodyy!!!

For this post I am trying Illamasqua's polish for the first time. All I can say is stunning!!

The application was flawless I could have easily gotten away with one coat but of course I did two because I felt like I would find a flaw somewhere if I didn't.

This is one of the most unique stunning polishes I've ever seen. I honestly have read so many blogs and no one seems to be able to find a dupe for it. I really think it is worth shelling out the money for. Not just for the color but how wonderfully Jo'mina applies, as well.
And I had to take a picture with my cat shugar. She was wondering what her mama was doing, ha she sits with me every night when I do my nails. She's from the pound, I got her when she was two years old and she is just the sweetest cat in the entire world, hence the name :)  We have two others from the pound but they really could care less about my hobby they have better things to do with their time, like annoy the dogs. ;)
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and I hope that I did the polish justice. I think that I captured the color pretty well but nothing could ever compare to seeing it in person!!

Talk to you soon!!!!
Sam
