NOTD!!!!

Hey everyone!!!!!!!

A few days ago I wore this mani and LOVED it! It's POP Beauty's Ultraviolet as the base color with Glitter In My Stocking, which is Nicole by OPI, as an accent nail. My camera was having the hardest time ever picking up the color of Ultraviolet so I'm going to link to my Jo'Mina post, here,  because they are pretty much dupes.

I could not stop staring at my nails and got a ton of compliments from complete strangers. I was so excited about it!

Both of these colors really really impressed me. The formula for both was great and the glitter had so much dimension! If you find either of these snatch them up. You wont be disappointed!!

I'm Back!!!!!

Hey ladies!!!
I'm sorry it's been so long but I've missed blogging terribly. After a loss I decided to take a little time off to get everything together and what not. I'm back now though and I could not be more excited. I have a giant back log of manicures from the time I was gone and I cant wait to share them all with you!!

I thought I'd start with the manicure I did on my mom as a practice run for her up coming wedding :). I gave her a full mani with all the proper pampering. I couldn't be more excited about the upcoming event.

The color is OPI's Got the Blues for Red. It looks gorgeous on her and its going to look great with her dress. Sort of a retro feel to it. Ive done a post on the color before when I wore it but this goes to show that it really is such a classic color!!! Anyone can wear it! I hope you guys like it and I cant wait to keep posting!! I hope you guys will have me back!!!

OPI DS Design

Hey everyone!!

Today I have for you DS Design by OPI. I've been on quite a holo kick lately for some reason and this one was no exception. This is one of the amazing holos that OPI used to make so I'm not sure how readily available it is anymore :/ I wish OPI would listen to all of us and start making these again. This is a sheer polish so it took me three coats to build up the coverage. Onto the pictures. As always click on them to enlarge!

This color is incredible!! If you can get your hands on it snatch it up for sure!! I hope that you guys liked the color! As always leave your requests and ideas in the comments below!! Talk to you all soon!!!!

NOTD Sapphire in the Snow by OPI

Hey everyone!!

Today I have for you one of my favorite colors. It's a deep royal purple and you all know how much I love dark colors. This polish never looks black in any light but it sometimes comes close. It took two coats for full opacity and didn't chip for quite a few days actually. This color is discontinued but I believe Zoya's Pinta is an exact dupe. If you love dark colors definitely try the Zoya one out, especially since their formula has been so awesome in the polishes I've tried recently.

Now, onto the fun stuff ladies :) I will be posting a giveaway tomorrow including some Glitter Gal holos, China Glaze Kaleidoscope holos, and a few other HTF polishes but I wanted to give my loyal readers a little extra entry chance. If you comment on this page with your email address and follower name before I post the giveaway post you will get an extra entry on top of the entries you will get when you enter on the giveaway post. This is just a little extra thank you to the ladies who always leave comments and make my day. I hope you guys understand how much I love getting your comments!!! And make sure that if you do leave a comment on here that you also leave one on the giveaway post I'll be putting up tomorrow so that you get all the normal entries as well!! Thank you again for all your comments!!!

My First Scotch Tape Mani!

Hey ladies!!

I was reading Chloe's blog yesterday and finally decided to just bite the bullet and take a stab at some nail art. I always love seeing the designs that she comes up with and admire how creative and beautiful her nails look afterwards. I have never really tried nail art at all so I was nervous about just completely butchering this mani but I think aside from a few minor mistakes they turned out pretty well! I did the patchwork mani which you can see her post about here. I used Milani's one coat glitter in Red Sparkle, Sinful's Black on Black, and OPI's Got the Blues for Red for which I have a post about here. Enjoy :)

The sparkle on this was really amazing! I could not stop staring at my nails especially in when I was out in the sun. I really enjoyed doing this nail art and am definitely going to start trying some more out. I hope that this will be something you guys enjoy as well! I also wanted to let you guys know that I appreciate every one of you who read my blog it seriously makes my day when I get on my blog and know that people have checked out my posts. Look for a giveaway very soon!!

Talk to you guys soon!!

Mothers Day Mani

Hey everyone!!

I hope you guys all had a great mothers day!! I got to meet up with a lot of my family for brunch today so it was a great day for me :) Just a quick post on the mani I did today. I used OPI's Pink-a-doodle which is probably my all time favorite light pink. It has this beautiful hot pink shimmer running through it that reminds me of Chanels "secret shimmer" polishes, its not super noticeable but just makes the color glow and look so beautiful. It took 3 quick thin coats and I was out the door. You can also lay down a coat of white first so that you have no chance of VNL, but I don't mind that because I have quite short nails so I didn't use a white. I hope that you guys enjoy :)

Sorry about the dry cuticles :) i just gave them a lemony flutter bath. Anyway, this picture is extremly color accurate.
A blurry picture to try to capture the hot pink shimmer, if you click on it you can see it even better.
In this particular picture the color on the nail isn't very color accurate but I did notice that it captured the shimmer in the top of the bottle by my index finger so I wanted to show that to you guys.

If you're looking for a pink I would seriously check this one out, I bought a back up because I am about half way through the bottle now. It's just so beautiful especially when you see it in person. Happy mothers day to all you mothers out there!! Including my mom, I love you mom!!!!!!! What were your guy's mothers day manis and what did you do for mothers day?

Have a great night!!!!

My Private Jet Original

Hey ladies!!!

This was my manicure for yesterday but it was a crazy day yesterday so I am finally getting around to posting it now. When I first heard the rumors that My Private Jet was starting to look different than the original I immediately went out that day to two different beauty stores in order to buy the rest of what they had in stock which was two of the original charcoal holo versions. So, I know have three :)) My first one is almost all used up though. This is my absolute favorite color of allllll time so having the back ups makes me feel extremely happy. I would wear this color everyday but I'm afraid of using it all up ha :). I am always on the lookout for a dupe to finally come out and once I find one you guys will be the first to know. I just recently bought some polishes off an Australian website that included a black holo so once I get them I will swatch it and hopefully have great news for you guys!!

Anywayy, I normally just do one or two coats of MPJ over a standard black polish because holos can look quite patchy sometimes because of the drag. This time I just did four coats of MPJ because I wanted to see it on its own and it was just as beautiful as ever!! In the future though, I will continue to do it over black because it gives the same effect and uses less :) Now onto the insane picture spam :) click to enlarge :)

This is a black holo that is as holo and as beautiful as can be. I love it love it love it so I had to share it with you guys! What's your favorite nail polish color and what's your biggest polish lemming? I would love to know!
Have a great night guys!!!

OPI Funkey Dunkey

Hey girls!!
Just a quick post today. It's been a very busy day and late tonight I finally got the chance to paint my nails so I went for an untried. It just took two quick coats with really no clean up needed because the formula was pretty nice. The color is a tiny bit warmer in real life than it is in these pictures. Enjoy :)

I love dark purples and creams so this is obviously a winner for me. I hope that you guys liked it. Please leave comments if you wish, I LOVE reading them :) Talk to you guys soon!!

OPI Silver Shatter and Surprise!! :)

Hey girls! Two posts in one night :) I'm sure feeling productive tonight!

I have a surprise for everyonee!! Today I went into Walmart to look at some more Revlon polishes and I saw out of the corner of my eye a little barber shop inside the actual walmart and some shiny bottles. I walk over and what do I see?!?!? The Silver Shatter display from OPI out early at this little salon so I had to snatch them up!!
Here's the display:

And yes the two empty spots are from me :) as you can see below. Why two you may ask, well I'll answer that at the end of the post :)

Silver Shatter before top coat:

Silver Shatter after top coat (I use Seche Vite btw):

Gorgeous right?!?!? I am going to try this again soon with a brighter color underneath because I think it will make the silver pop more than the dark blue, which is from my previous post Dare to Wear Back to Basics. Now down to the bigger meaning of this post; I have been so overwhelmed with good feelings since I started this blog. You guys have all been so supportive of my new blog and you have been leaving such awesome comments. So, I bought the second Silver Shatter for you guys to win in a giveaway!!! I will post the giveaway soon!! Please let me know if this is something you guys as my followers would like!!

OPI Got the Blues for Red

Hello ladies!!! I hope your days went well!

Today, I wanted to show you guys a beautiful red. Now I normally don't go for colors like reds and pinks because I find them too traditional, especially when they are creams, but when I saw this polish I fell in love with it.

Application was flawless, two coats for full coverage. It's a cream going on jelly finish. Its one of those deep expensive reds that I think everyone should have at least one of. It wasn't too runny but it wasn't too thick. It just was PERFECT!! I don't rave this often about how a polish applies but this one surprised me big time. Now onto the pictures :)

 Indoor lighting with no flash

 Indoor with flash

Indoors with flash again

It really is beautiful and the application was just so great that I cant help but recommend this. OPI really impressed me with this one!!! Leave your comments and requests!! Thanks so much for reading!

NOTD OPI DS Original

Hey there! I hope everyone is doing well.
Today I'm bringing you a nail of the day with OPI DS Original. I think this was discontinued a while ago...the good ones always are, but I'm pretty sure eBay sellers still have it online.
I can't even begin how to describe this color to you its a purply, lilac holo that is just like a rainbow in the sun or light. Even in the shade you can still pick up the holo.
DS Original is one of those colors that everyone wishes nail polish companies still made often. If your reading this nail companies bring the holographic colors back!!

Unfortunately, there is never sun here in Ohio so I had to take the following pictures with artificial lighting, it still looks beautiful but there is nothing like seeing it on a sunny summer day.
This post may be slightly pic heavy but its just such a beautiful polish I felt it would be okay :)
A blurry pic because I thought it may help capture the rainbow effect. This polish applies like a dream it only took two coats and it was even with no bald spots as some holos will get. I used OPI natural nail strengthening base coat and seche vite as a top coat.

I would definitely say this is more of a linear holo than a scattered holo. It is just so darn beautiful. Click on the pics to enlarge them and see the holo even better.
I hope you all enjoyed this post. :) Have a great rest of your night! Talk to you soon!!!

My First Blog Post!!!

Welcome to my blog :) The Real Polish Princess.
My real name is Sam and I'm a real nail polish lover. Ever since I was little my mom would take me to get my nails done and it was the biggest treat in the world, the first time was after a shot when I was four and I didn't cry. It doesnt get any better than that!!
I had never been big on buying my own nail polish up until about a year ago, I would just go to the salon and get them done. I was getting my nails done and decided to stray away from my usual french and go for an actual color. I chose Blue My Mind and when I saw the finished product I immediatley went and bought it at BeautyFirst and I never looked back.
Luckily, I work at a gym with a salon so we get big discounts on products such as OPI and Essie, best job ever! I do have a pretty large collection at this point but there is always room for more. :)
I try to stick mainly to the brands that dont test on animals but I must say that occasionally I get a color from a brand that does.
Anyway, I thought that my first post should be about the color that started it all. Blue my Mind by OPI. This was the picture of the original manicure, I had acrylic back then but have since removed that and gone with natural nails so that I could paint them more often :) I hope that you all enjoy!! Please leave comments and links to your beauty blog!!
